St John’s Hosts World Day of Prayer

World Day of Prayer has been uniting Christians around the world for almost a century. Involving 146 countries and a coordinated international network, World Day of Prayer is a truly unique event and this year St John’s is proud to be the local host of the movement - offering a special service to Christians of all denominations in the Selwyn area.

Our interfaith prayer service takes place on Friday 1st March at 1pm. This year’s service has been prepared by a committee of Christian women of Palestine and is based on Ephesians 4: 1-3:

“I beg you … bear with one another in love”

Offerings taken during the service will help fund grants for causes in Canada and across the world, with a focus on initiatives that support women and children.

We hope you can join us for this inspirational event, and please stick around after the service - we’ll be serving some delicious refreshments in the church hall!

World Day of Prayer is more than just a service, it’s a chance for the Lakefield community to come together in prayer and love while supporting some great causes. We can’t wait to welcome you!
