A Lakefield Lenten Tradition Returns…

Drop into St John’s around lunchtime on a Thursday in Lent and you’ll see one of Lakefield’s most popular community events in action. For over 20 years, the church has brought local faith leaders together for good food and thoughtful discussion. Attendees are treated to a speaker presentation while they enjoy a bowl of homemade soup, followed by a freshly baked dessert.

This year, the Lenten Lunches again bring a wonderful line-up of speakers to St John’s, all delivering their thoughts on this year’s theme - Peace & Harmony. Given the current state of our political and cultural landscape, this topic is sure to generate some timely and interesting conversations!

Lenten Lunches kick off on Thursday 6th March (the full schedule is shared below) and our first guest speaker will be our very own Rev. John Runza. We meet at 12pm in the Upstairs Hall. Everyone is invited, whether you’re a member of a local church or not. Come, bring a friend (or two!) and get to know our welcoming community.

The lunches are always very well-attended so be sure to book your seats early. Please let Prim know if you plan to attend or email stjohnslakefieldcomms@gmail to reserve your seat.
