St. John the Baptist, Anglican Church in Lakefield, is hosting a Remote Blood Donor Clinic on Friday May 27th at 11:00 am.  A remote Blood Donor Clinic works by advanced online registration by the person who wishes to donate blood with the Participation Partner Group – St. John the Baptist, Lakefield. The Donor Group receives consecutive appointments at the Peterborough Donation Centre and is picked up by free taxis vans at the meeting time (11:00 am). The taxis will each take 2-3 persons to the donation site and return them to the church in Lakefield. Appointments will be booked in blocks of 9 assuring the donors of Covid safe spacing in the taxi. Subsequent meeting times and more taxis will be assigned for pick up throughout the afternoon if necessary. The pick-up location will be at the Regent St. door of the church. Waiting space inside will be provided.

This Blood Donor Clinic is an initiative of the Mission and Outreach Committee at St. John’s, designed to be a loving help to our community. The Peterborough Regional Health Centre as well as other hospitals in the area receive blood and blood products from such community clinics. These recipients are your neighbours - persons involved in automobile accidents and those facing surgeries. It also helps those who wish to donate their blood, who may not have personal transportation or be comfortable driving after donating. We welcome all the local community to join with us in this lifesaving activity.

To register online you can either visit or scan the QR code on the poster. If you have neither a computer nor a smart phone you may call Ann at 705 652 3047 to sign up. When registering either online or by phone, you will be asked to answer a qualification questionnaire to donate, and to note that you wish to be part of the St John the Baptist Participation Partner Group.
