Museum Displays

Each summer visitors to Christ Church Community Museum are able to see different displays.

There is the ongoing story of the Samuel Strickland family with the addition of Sam’s son-in-law Kivas Tully who was the architect of Christ Church. Sam’s two sisters, Catharine Parr Traill and Susanna Moodie also have a prominent place in the building. This includes their books as well as Catharine’s desk.

Four small white crosses set on a table inside the church are a memorial to the Bowker children and posted information make the family seem more real for the visitors and the volunteers.

There are preloved toys that children enjoy seeing as well as adults who once played with something similar. Visitors remark on seeing something familiar.
